During the first half of the year, Miami International Airport (MIA) served nearly 26.2 million passengers, an increase of 2.6% over the record-breaking year of 2022, and on track to surpass 52 million travelers by 2023.
Through June, international passengers at MIA increased 12% to 11.4 million, while domestic travelers decreased 3.6% to 14.8 million, according to statistics recently released by the airport.
Through June, MIA remained the fastest-growing U.S. airport, according to Airports Council International-North America. In 2022, the airport served nearly 50.7 million passengers to smash its previous record of 45.9 million set in 2019. MIA’s growth trend is expected to continue through the remainder of 2023, thanks to a variety of service launches scheduled for the second half of the year.
