Iberia and Iberia Express led the European punctuality indexes during the month of July. Specifically, Iberia was the most punctual airline in Europe, while Iberia Express was the most punctual low-cost airline in the region, according to data from the global consulting firm specializing in aviation analysis Cirium -formerly FlightStats.
Nearly 81% of the flights operated by Iberia, out of a total of more than 15,000, arrived at their destination on time. In addition, the Spanish airline is the only one in the ranking with a punctuality ratio of over 80%, reflecting the operational difficulties to which the region’s airline industry is exposed. The airline is also positioned in the global ranking as the seventh most punctual airline in the world.

Iberia Express, for its part, with nearly 4,000 flights operated, recorded an average punctuality rate of 87%, making it the most punctual low cost in Europe and the third most punctual in the world.
“In order to achieve a punctuality rate of more than 80% in a challenging operating environment, such as that of European airports during these summer months, it is necessary for all teams to work together. The commitment of the company’s more than 17,000 employees has been the key to achieving this recognition in the summer, one of the most critical periods for airlines, when we deploy our largest flight offer. I would like to thank each and every one of you who made this possible,” said Rafa Hoyos, Iberia’s Production Director.
