Iberia Express to fly to Cairo and Marrakech in winter

Iberia Express announced that it will increase its international flight capacity by 30% in the upcoming 2023-2024 winter season, with more frequencies and two new routes, to Cairo and Marrakech, bringing its total number of destinations to 22.

As reported Tuesday by the airline, the new connection between Madrid and Marrakech will start next October 29 with two daily flights and Cairo, the next day, with three weekly frequencies.

The airline will also increase by up to 9 weekly flights between Madrid and Dublin, and up to four to Manchester.

Other routes where it will add more frequencies are Naples (up to 12 weekly flights each way); Lyon (18); Amsterdam, London-Gatwick and Tel Aviv (14); Berlin (21) and Copenhagen (9).

The company also announced that it will offer more than half a million seats between Madrid and the Balearic archipelago, 9% more than in 2022.

In the Balearic Islands, the number of flights on the Madrid-Ibiza route will increase to 26 weekly, 43% more than the previous winter season, while the connection between the capital and Palma de Mallorca will have 42 weekly services and an average of six a day.

In the Canary Islands, the capacity of flights between Madrid and Tenerife will increase by 4%, to 58 weekly flights (44 to Tenerife North and 14 to Tenerife South), and to Gran Canaria there will be 8% more services, to a total of 52 a week, which will make them the Iberia Group’s two main routes, behind only Barcelona, London and Paris.

In addition, 18 weekly flights will be scheduled, more than two daily, to Lanzarote; 14 weekly to Fuerteventura and 10 round trips a week to La Palma.

Regarding peninsular destinations, the route to Malaga stands out, with a 47% increase in capacity, up to 21 weekly flights.
