LATAM Airlines has just reached the mark of 123,000 passengers transported between Brazil and Rome on 338 flights in the first year of operation of the route between Guarulhos (São Paulo) and Rome-Fiumicino airports. During the period, the flight operated by Boeing 777 aircraft – LATAM’s largest, with capacity for 410 passengers – had an average occupancy rate of 91%.
As Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil Sales and Marketing Director, points out, “LATAM has become a more efficient and competitive company in recent years and is, therefore, the company that most connects Brazil with Italy, with regular and direct flights to Rome and Milan from our hub in Guarulhos. We are satisfied with the first year’s performance of the route to the Italian capital and have decided to expand our operation between the two countries.”
→ LATAM to increase its flights between São Paulo and Lisbon
As of January 2024, LATAM will increase the operation of its São Paulo-Rome route from three to five flights per week and São Paulo-Milan from four to five flights per week.
BRAZILIAN FLAVOR ON INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS
Since the beginning of the year, LATAM has been promoting female chefs from different regions of Brazil through its “Sabor à Brasileira” program. Every three months, the airline offers a signature dish (lunch and dinner) signed by these professionals, to compose the menu of its international flights – on board Premium Business and Economy cabins -, which take off from Brazil and last more than 7 hours – as is the case of the routes from Brazil to Rome and Milan. From August 1, the menu includes the Amazônia Encantada dish (grilled pirarucu with seasonal vegetables, butter beans, special cream and farofa of Amazonian spices), signed by chef Débora Shornik and representing the northern region of the country.
