LATAM resumes direct flights between Santiago de Chile and Melbourne

“We are very pleased to be able to put our connectivity at the service of thousands of athletes from more than 40 countries that will bring this great sporting event to life. LATAM is proud to be able to carry the colors of the Pan American Games around the world and, like these games, continue to contribute to the unity of our region,” said Ignacio Cueto, Chairman of the Board of LATAM Airlines Group.

LATAM’s contribution as a sponsor is extensive. In addition to being a sponsor, the airline is implementing several additional actions such as transporting the Pan American Fire from Mexico to Chile and within the country (to Easter Island and Punta Arenas). The aim is to facilitate connectivity and support the sport. As an example, remote check-in will be implemented at the Pan American Village to facilitate the athletes’ passage through the airport. The agreement as official sponsor of Team Chile will support all high-performance athletes who represent our country at the international level.

The airline has been preparing for quite some time to facilitate the transportation of athletes during their stay at the games. Among the actions being developed are, for example, an exclusive and direct digital channel for delegations to communicate more quickly in case of emergency; remote check in at the Pan American Village, to anticipate and facilitate the passage of athletes through the airport, in addition to special fares and deals for athletes who require them. For the general public there will be an interactive stand at the entrance to the National Stadium, where attendees will be able to participate in different sports competitions. During the games, customers will be able to redeem their LATAM Pass miles for official merchandising of the sporting event.
