The Abra Group, comprising Avianca and Gol, announced Thursday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aerolíneas Argentinas that seeks to strengthen collaboration and explore opportunities between the two organizations, specifically in the commercial, operations and technology areas.
The member airlines of the Abra Group and Aerolíneas Argentinas will maintain their complete independence, autonomy, brands, team and culture. Furthermore, the signed agreement does not contemplate any change in the shareholding structures of the group or the companies.

“With this agreement we are generating more and better business opportunities with two of the continent’s leading airlines. It will allow us to generate a virtuous circle that will benefit the parties involved, the passengers who choose us and, ultimately, the entire region. This type of alliance is the future of the business and an essential pillar for the growth of air transportation,” said Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas.
“As part of the Abra Group’s growth in the region, we announced a partnership agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas, which will allow us to further strengthen our presence in the Southern Cone and seek new opportunities in different areas to contribute to Abra’s purpose: to get more people in Latin America to fly by air at better fares, with more destinations, frequencies and more practical connections,” said Constantino de Oliveira Junior, CEO of the Abra Group.
The companies intend to explore alternatives to further enhance and deepen existing agreements, including interline agreements, code-share agreements, frequent flyer programs and cargo agreements, in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework, including antitrust and competition laws.
