Air France will fly to 167 destinations this winter

After a summer marked by strong travel demand, Air France continues to reopen and expand its worldwide network. During the 2023-2024 winter season, the airline will operate 167 destinations, including 84 on long-haul routes and 83 on short- and medium-haul routes, returning to a level of activity close to that of winter 2019, at 98% of available seat-kilometer capacity on long-haul routes.

Long haul: opening of Raleigh Durham and Abu Dhabi

This winter, capacity to North America will increase by 20% compared to 2019. During that period, Air France will operate up to 212 weekly flights to 20 destinations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. As of October 30, 2023, the airline will add Raleigh Durham (North Carolina) to its network, with 3 weekly flights, its 14th U.S. destination.

The company will also extend its service to Ottawa (Canada), inaugurated last June, during the winter. Flights to Dallas, Vancouver, Boston and Montreal will be strengthened, with additional frequencies or the use of larger capacity aircraft. Finally, to mark Air France’s 90th anniversary, the airline will renumber its flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and New York JFK as of October 29, 2023. Flights AF015 and AF022 will become AF001 and AF002, the legendary flight numbers reserved for Concorde until 2003.

Air France will strengthen its services to Central and South America with the introduction of daily flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and San José (Costa Rica), operated by Airbus A350-900. Flights to Bogota (Colombia) will also be operated by Airbus A350-900, increasing capacity on this route. In the Caribbean region, the company will inaugurate on December 1, 2023 a new service between Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) and Saint-Marteen, operated once a week by Airbus A320. This new route will bring to 7 the number of destinations served by the company’s Caribbean regional network (Belém (Brazil), Cayenne, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Saint-Marteen, Miami and Montreal).

The airline will also continue to increase capacity to and from Asia. Driven by China and Japan, capacity in this region will increase by 60% compared to last winter. However, they will remain below 2019 levels. This winter, Air France will maintain its daily services to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, and offer a second flight to Tokyo Haneda. In total, up to 16 weekly flights will be offered to the two Tokyo airports. Finally, flights to Bangkok (Thailand) will return to daily service, with up to 10 weekly flights.

Starting October 29, 2023, Air France will offer a new route to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), which will be served daily by an Airbus A350-900, in cooperation with Etihad Airways. Dubai will be served 14 times a week.

In Africa, service to Nairobi (Kenya) is now daily, and the route to Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), inaugurated in June 2023 and operated as a continuation of Zanzibar, will be extended in the winter season.

Continued deployment of new cabins on Boeing 777-300 and Airbus A350-900

These new cabins, available in Business, Premium Economy and Economy class, are the new Air France standard. This winter, it will be offered on select flights to New York JFK, Newark, Boston, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Dakar, Tokyo Haneda, Hong Kong, Seoul Incheon, Shanghai and Johannesburg.

On medium-haul routes, seasonal frequencies are renewed in winter between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tromsø (Norway) 2 flights per week from October 28, Rovaniemi (Finland) 3 flights per week from December 2 and up to 7 flights per week during the Christmas vacations, Kittila (Finland) 1 flight per week from December 23 and Innsbruck (Austria) 1 flight per week from December 23.

Service to Krakow (Poland) will be expanded during the winter season, with 3 weekly flights operated by Embraer 190 aircraft.

Transavia France, the low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, will offer flights to 84 destinations in 26 countries this winter.
