Dominican airline Arajet inaugurated this Sunday its new route between Santo Domingo and Santiago de Chile, continuing its expansion throughout the American continent.

The route, which takes just over seven hours, is operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with capacity for 185 passengers.

“Arajet seeks to position itself as a global brand, backed by Bain Capital and Griffin Asset Management, and with a capital investment of approximately US$3 billion to expand our fleet to more than 40 aircraft in five years. Our mission is to consolidate our position as the low-fare airline of choice for Latin Americans,” said Arajet’s Chief Communication & External Affairs Officer, Manuel Luna.

Arajet also inaugurated this Monday direct flights between Santiago de los Caballeros and Bogota, its second route from Cibao to Colombia, after Medellin.

This route will have two frequencies per week on Mondays and Fridays.

“We are proud to be the first airline to link the Cibao International Airport with El Dorado International Airport and this route will continue to strengthen tourism and commercial ties between these cities for the benefit of the economy of both countries,” said Victor Pacheco Mendez, CEO & Founder of Arajet.

Since its entry into the market in September 2022, Arajet has transported more than 450 thousand passengers from its hub in Santo Domingo with access to 22 destinations spanning 16 countries and more than 150 connections.
