Tirana, Iberia’s new destination

Spanish airline Iberia announced Wednesday that it will add Tirana (Albania) as a new destination.

Starting March 28, the airline will connect Madrid with the Albanian capital’s Mother Teresa International Airport three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays), offering a total of 32 flights during the 2024 summer season. three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays), offering during the 2024 summer season a total of 32,364 seats between Spain and the Balkan country.

Iberia is consolidating several of the routes it used to operate only in July and August, and from next summer season they will be operated continuously from April to the end of October. This is the case of Split and Zagreb (Croatia), Catania (Italy) and Ponta Delgada (Portugal).

Dubrovnik, already served year-round, will add an average of three additional frequencies next summer, reaching a maximum of 15 flights a week in August. Zagreb will add an average of four flights and will have a maximum of nine weekly frequencies in August, and Split will add an average of three, reaching nine weekly operations in August.

Iberia will also add more operations in Italy and Portugal. Catania will have up to nine operations a week in August by 2024 and Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, will have three weekly flights from Madrid.

Operations will also be expanded to other destinations Iberia flies to in the summer season: the Greek islands and the island of Sardinia. The airline will schedule flights to Corfu, Mykonos and Santorini (Greece) and Olbia (Sardinia, Italy) from May to September. In the case of Bergen (Norway), the airline will operate from May through early September, instead of only in July and August.
