Copa Airlines, in conjunction with the Tourism Promotion Fund (PROMTUR) and its “Panama Vive por Más” campaign, presented this Wednesday its new Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft with a special livery inspired by the wonders of Panama, its biodiversity, cultural roots, fascinating history and vibrant city. This aircraft will be an instrument of tourism promotion of the country in each of the cities of the American continent operated by the airline, as an open invitation to visit and enjoy the unique experience it has to offer.

“The presentation of this new aircraft marks a significant milestone for Copa Airlines in our joint efforts with PROMTUR over the past few years to boost Panama’s tourism development. Its paint design not only symbolizes the most emblematic aspects of our country, but also represents our culture, beauty and uniqueness that distinguish us. For us, it is a visual testimony of the wonders we proudly share with the world,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines.

Copa Airlines to increase flights to 38 destinations

“Panama’s strategic alliance with Copa Airlines is one of our most important, given our shared goals of connecting people with the inspiring power of traveling to Panama, said PROMTUR CEO Fernando Fondevila. The new Panama Vive por Más aircraft paint design features a mural that perfectly represents the world of possibilities that awaits travelers in our destination, highlighting our stunning natural resources along with our rich and authentic cultural experiences, he said. Panama is becoming more visible every day thanks to partnerships like this one, which allow us to connect with travelers in new and exciting ways to introduce them to Panama as a stimulating and authentic destination.

The design of the new aircraft embodies an artistic expression of colors and figures carefully selected to tell a unique story of the country. It is based on four pillars: culture, land, sea and city.

On its left side, the design shows emblematic elements of Panamanian folklore such as:

– The Diablico Sucio, as an iconic piece of the country’s cultural richness.
– The majestic Harpy Eagle representing the country’s diverse wildlife.
– A whale and a sea turtle illustrating the rich biodiversity of the seas.

On the right side, the aircraft highlights the capital city and its historical sites:

– From the modern skyline of the capital city to the ruins of Panama La Vieja.
– The adventure with exciting ziplining and canopy activities in the middle of nature, and the spirit of surfing in the Panamanian coasts.

In addition to the presentation of the new aircraft, Copa Airlines shared the results of some of its initiatives to promote tourism in the country. These achievements further underscore its ongoing commitment to contribute to Panama’s development. Focused primarily on strengthening the country’s competitiveness by expanding air connectivity, collaborating closely with tourism unions and authorities, and leveraging all of its marketing channels to position Panama as a highly attractive business and tourism destination.

The airline especially highlighted the achievements of the last two years of the Panama Stopover program and its “Panama Irresistible” travel offer campaign. These initiatives have attracted more than 260,000 visitors to the country during that period. They also highlighted the milestone reached with the creation of the Safety Video on board its aircraft, which has not only won international awards for its creative production, but is also viewed by most of its passengers on every takeoff. In addition, it has accumulated more than 15 million views on social networks, making it the most viewed Panamanian tourism promotion piece in the world.
