United Airlines announced Wednesday that it will offer the largest flight schedule in its history to Florida this winter, up nearly 20% compared to last season, with more flights to destinations such as Miami, Tampa and Orlando, and with larger aircraft.

For the first time in the company’s history, United will fly mainline aircraft and nearly double the number of seats between Key West International Airport and several of the airline’s hubs, including Chicago O’Hare, Washington Dulles, Houston and Newark.

And for those who prefer the snow, the airline remains the nation’s largest carrier to popular ski destinations, with direct flights to 11 different winter sports resorts, including Jackson Hole, Vail and Big Sky.

Miami Orlando, Honolulu, Cancun and Las Vegas are the five most searched domestic destinations on the company’s website for this winter.

United will fly one of its newest aircraft – the Airbus 321neo – on select routes to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Fort Myers beginning in December, adding more seats to some of Florida’s most popular cities.

“We know November is the month most people start planning their winter travel, so we’re adding these flights to give customers more options than ever,” said Mark Weithofer, United’s General Manager of Domestic Network Planning.
