Avianca launched its new “Onboard Coupons” as a new payment method for its in-flight sales service.
This product extends access to the in-flight menu, for customers who prefer to make their purchase in cash before the flight, or for those who prefer to secure their meals before each flight.
“At Avianca, we welcome all ways of flying and that’s why we want to offer our customers different options to enjoy in-flight products. Now, those who fly with us will also be able to purchase coupons with cash to enjoy the in-flight menu,” said Dana Shapir Alviene, senior vice president of Service Delivery at Avianca.

Travelers departing from the airports of Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Cali, Barranquilla and San Salvador will be able to purchase this voucher at Avianca counters and boarding gates. They will have the option of purchasing two denominations of vouchers: one in Colombian pesos, which costs $25,000 COP to be used only on domestic flights within Colombia; and another in dollars, to be used exclusively on international flights, with a value of 15USD.
The product, with the participation of Versilia, an airline partner, is already in the testing phase and is planned to be expanded to other airports in the country and, subsequently, to several international destinations where Avianca flies.
