Aruba extends ban on commercial flights with Venezuela for 90 days
Aruban authorities announced Sunday that the ban on commercial flights to and from Venezuela has been extended for 90 days.
“The decision was taken to avoid a new wave of migration to the Caribbean island by Venezuelans, according to Diederik Kemmerling, new president of the Aruba Chamber of Commerce.

“Flights with Venezuela should be opened initially for cargo and not for passengers to avoid new immigration to the island,” Kemmerling stressed.
It should be recalled that the Prime Minister of Aruba, Evelyn Wever, had anticipated at the beginning of January 2024 that the measure would be annulled and commercial flights between the Caribbean island and the South American country would be resumed.
However, the restriction was renewed by the island, taking the Venezuelan aeronautical sector by surprise, which considered the lifting of the ban “almost certain”.
