JetSMART presented its latest addition, the emblematic Cock of the Rock, Peru’s national symbol, depicted on the tail of the airline’s new Airbus A320neo.
“We are extremely proud to carry the distinctive design of the Cock of the Rock on our aircraft, a reflection of Peru’s natural richness. Beyond being a means of transportation, each aircraft in our fleet represents our commitment to the environment and the union of cultures in South America,” said Francesca Luna, JetSMART’s General Manager in Peru.
The debut of this new aircraft also marks the announcement of new international routes connecting Guayaquil (Ecuador) and Cartagena (Colombia) with Arequipa, as well as Quito and Guayaquil (Ecuador) with Cusco, all via Lima.

In this way, JetSMART continues its commitment to the preservation of the environment and the connection between countries, strengthening the importance of biodiversity and cultural identity in each of its flights.
The largest ultra low cost fleet in South America
The aircraft with the Cock of the Rock livery is part of a regional fleet of 32 state-of-the-art aircraft. This represents a new milestone in the airline’s trajectory, consolidating its position as the largest Ultra Low Cost (ULCC) fleet in South America.
“This milestone marks our continued expansion and commitment to connectivity in South America. With a growing fleet and a focus on low fares and safety, we continue to advance toward our goal of carrying 100 million passengers by 2028. This achievement positions the airline as a benchmark in the region, reaffirming its commitment to offer affordable travel and optimal connections for passengers,” emphasized Luna.
The JetSMART fleet is currently comprised of 24 Airbus A320 and 8 A321 aircraft, all state-of-the-art with cutting-edge technology. This configuration allows the airline to operate both domestic flights in Peru, Chile and Argentina, as well as international routes in eight South American countries. In addition, the company is in the final phase to start domestic operations in Colombia during the first quarter of 2024.
