Mexican aeronautics industry leaders have partnered once again to launch the second Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) competition, which invites academic and research institutions to submit proposals on ways to accelerate the production and scalability of SAF.
Entries for the competition will be accepted until March 15, 2024, and the winning projects will be announced during the Aerospace Fair Mexico (FAMEX) in April 2025, after an evaluation phase that will run from March 2024 to March 2025.

Participating in the competition are Airbus, Aeroméxico, Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA), Cámara Nacional de Aerotransportes (CANAERO), Consejo Mexicano de Educación Aeroespacial (COMEA), Federación Mexicana de la Industria Aeroespacial (FEMIA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Iniciativa para los Combustibles Sostenibles de Aviación en México (ICSA), Viva Aerobus and Volaris.
