LATAM grows 32.7% in international passenger traffic in January

LATAM Group reported Thursday its operational statistics for January 2024, when it transported more than 7 million passengers, representing an 18.5% increase over the same month last year.

This result is explained by the recovery of the international segment, which recorded a 32.7% increase in passengers transported, driven by the high season in South America. In the domestic markets of the Chilean, Colombian, Ecuadorian and Peruvian subsidiaries, this figure increased 29.9%, and in the domestic market of the Brazilian subsidiary it increased 4.9%.

In terms of capacity measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), the LATAM group increased its consolidated supply by 13.9% compared to January 2023, with a 22.3% increase in its international supply and an 18.8% increase in its supply in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.

Consolidated passenger traffic (measured in revenue passenger-kilometers – RPK) increased 20.2% compared to the same month of 2023, driven mainly by a 32.5% increase in international demand and a 24.2% increase in demand in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.

In the first month of the year, the group reported a consolidated passenger load factor of 85.6%, 4.5 percentage points higher than January of last year, mainly explained by an increase in the international load factor of 6.8 percentage points.

In cargo, during January, capacity measured in available ton-kilometers (ATK) reached 659 million, representing an 11.1% increase in capacity offered over the same period of the previous year.
