The Joint Court of Justice of the Dutch Caribbean Islands ratified the “provisional” confiscation of an aircraft belonging to the Venezuelan airline Albatros Airlines.
According to Descifrado, the measure was carried out in the framework of a litigation with the company 111Repair, an aeronautical services provider based in Florida.
The aircraft, a Boeing 737-500, registered to Alianza Glancelot CA (known as Albatros Airlines), was seized after completing a flight between Las Piedras de Falcón and Hato de Willemstad airports on February 23.

The litigation originated due to a dispute between Albatros Airlines and 111Repair, which began in 2019 when the Venezuelan airline began to delay payment for services received. The dispute was submitted to arbitration in a Florida court, which in August 2023 ruled that the airline should pay US$92,931 plus interest of 9.09% per year, and US$400,000 plus the same percentage for delay each year, as published by Crónicas del Caribe website.
Despite the payment alternatives proposed by Albatros, including partial payments and biweekly installments, the plaintiff company is not confident that the agreements will be honored.
The legal representatives of both parties remain silent on the case.
The seized aircraft could be used to pay off the outstanding debt to 111Repair, according to representatives of the claimant company.
