Iberia takes delivery of its 22nd Airbus A350

Iberia has joined in the celebration of the bicentenary of the National Police and has named its new aircraft, the airline’s 22nd Airbus A350, after Spain’s oldest state police force.

The A350, with registration EC-OFM and name “Bicentenario Policía Nacional”, which joined Iberia’s fleet in March, started operations last week.

The celebration ceremony, which took place in La Muñoza, was presided over by the president of Iberia, Fernando Candela, and the director general of the National Police, Francisco Pardo. A formation of agents from different units and several patrol cars and uniformed motorcycles escorted the airline’s new A350.

“National Police officers and Iberia workers are there together, every day, with the goal of facilitating the travels of millions of people to make their experience as pleasant and safe as possible,” Fernando Candela said.

Francisco Pardo has pointed out that “today a great illusion takes off from the hand of a great company such as Iberia. The airline has given us this opportunity to label one of its aircraft with the Bicentenary of the National Police. For us it will be a real pleasure to see your plane take off proudly carrying the name of the National Police through the airspace”.
