Avianca announced that it will request the Colombian and Brazilian aeronautical entities to operate the non-stop route between Bogota and Brasilia for the year-end season. The Colombian airline’s frequencies would complement those requested by Brazilian GOL Linhas Aéreas for the same route.
Currently, the two airlines have interline connections and a codeshare agreement with more than 80 routes and more than 60 destinations, allowing customers to connect between the two companies’ networks.

“Colombia and Brazil are two of the most important air markets in the continent. In addition, Bogota and Brasilia are two of the most important hubs in Latin America. That is why we are studying this possibility to continue connecting more customers, strengthening our cargo operation, promoting tourism and business, not only between Colombia and Brazil, but also with our network of more than 75 destinations in 25 countries,” said Frederico Pedreira, CEO and president of Avianca.
