Colombia’s Civil Aeronautics presented its report on passenger and cargo movement by air for the first quarter of 2024.
According to the Analytical Office, air transport service in Colombia, during the first quarter of 2024, mobilized 13,295,000 passengers. This represents an increase of 14.8% compared to the same period of 2023.
The increase in the number of passengers to and from international destinations during the first quarter of 2024 is considerable, rising from 4,146,000 in 2023 to 5,500,000 during the current year, representing a growth of 32.6%.

According to the consolidated figure, this growth in air transportation is due to the slow incorporation of seats to the international market after the pandemic, the withdrawal from the domestic market of operators such as Viva Air and Ultra Air, and the fact that February, this year, had 29 days.
Air Freight Transportation
Airlines operating in Colombia transported 228,093 tons of cargo and mail during the first quarter of 2024, representing a growth of 8.1% compared to the same period in 2023.
