Singapore Airlines Group expands destination network and adds new Embraer aircraft to Scoot fleet

Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced Wednesday an expansion of its network of destinations to Southeast Asia through the addition of new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft from Scoot, the SIA Group’s low-cost carrier.

Services with the Embraer E190-E2 are expected to begin in May 2024, with the first two aircraft. The Group plans to add up to nine new aircraft to its fleet over the next two years.

In its bid to bring Southeast Asia closer to travelers around the world, the introduction of the new E190-E2 aircraft will allow Scoot to increase frequencies to existing destinations such as Hat Yai, Kuantan, Krabi and Miri and to fly to new destinations such as the exotic island of Koh Samui, Thailand, starting May 13, 2024 and the picturesque city of Sibu, located in Malaysia, starting June 5, 2024.

With the announcement of Koh Samui and Sibu, Scoot’s network increases to 69 destinations, enhancing the airline’s connectivity in the region and reinforcing Singapore’s position as a major regional aviation hub.
