American Airlines announces eight new routes to Latin America and the Caribbean in winter

In winter 2024, American Airlines will enhance its industry-leading short-haul international network with eight new routes and increased service, offering flights to more destinations than any other U.S. carrier in the region.

“Customers will have more reasons to choose American than ever before for nonstop fun in the sun this year. We are excited to continue growing our network to the region with more flights this winter to the Caribbean and Latin America”, said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning.

American’s winter schedule will offer 11% more departures and 10% more seats compared to its winter schedule in 2023.

New routes to beach destinations:

  • Charlotte – St. Vincent and the Grenadines starting Dec. 7
  • Miami – La Romana (Dominican Republic) starting December 5
  • New York (JFK) – Bridgetown (Barbados) starting Nov. 5
  • New York (JFK) – St. Lucia starting Dec. 7
  • New York (JFK) – St. Maarten starting Dec. 7
  • New York (JFK) – St. Vincent and the Grenadines starting Dec. 7
  • Philadelphia – Bridgetown (Barbados) starting Nov. 9
  • Philadelphia – Liberia (Costa Rica) starting December 7

More flights on routes to the Caribbean and Latin America

  • Charlotte – Antigua: Increased to daily service effective December 5
  • Chicago (O’Hare) – Los Cabos (Mexico): Increase to twice-daily service between Dec. 19 and Jan. 6, 2025
  • Chicago (O’Hare) – Nassau (Bahamas): Increase to daily service beginning Dec. 5.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth – Comayagua (Honduras): Increase to twice-weekly service effective Dec. 5
  • Dallas-Fort Worth – Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands): Daily service effective Dec. 5
  • Dallas-Fort Worth – Huatulco (Mexico): Increase to daily service effective Dec. 5
  • Dallas-Fort Worth – Nassau (Bahamas): Increases to daily service effective Dec. 5.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth – Oaxaca (Mexico): Increased to twice-daily service effective Nov. 5
  • Dallas-Fort Worth – Zihuatanejo (Mexico): Upgrade to daily service effective Dec. 5
  • Los Angeles – Los Cabos (Mexico): Increase to twice-daily service from December 19 through January 6, 2025
  • Miami – Bonaire: Increased service to once-daily service beginning Dec. 5
  • Miami – Cancun (Mexico): Increase to six flights daily between December 19 and January 6, 2025
  • Miami – Ocho Rios (Jamaica): Increased service to one daily flight as of Dec. 5
  • Miami – Tortola (British Virgin Islands): Increase to five peak-day flights beginning Dec. 7
  • Phoenix – Cancun (Mexico): Increase to two daily flights beginning Nov. 5
  • Phoenix – Puerto Vallarta (Mexico): Increase to three daily flights as of Nov. 5
