Beginning September 2024, Alaska Airlines will begin deploying additional First and Premium Class seats on more than 200 aircraft, including Boeing 737-900ERs, 800s and MAX 9s. This expansion will add 1.3 million premium seats per year to the carrier’s mainline fleet.
Earlier this year, the airline modernized its entire regional fleet, adding 400,000 premium seats on Embraer E175 aircraft.

The decision to increase the number of premium seats responds to growing customer demand.
First and Premium Class revenues increased by 8% and 6%, respectively, during the quarter, and the occupancy factor in First Class reached 71%, up 4.3 points.
