LATAM to increase flights between Santiago de Chile and Melbourne, Australia

LATAM Airlines announced that it will expand its flight offerings on the Santiago (Chile)-Melbourne (Australia) route from 3 to 4 weekly frequencies between December 2024 and March 2025, during the austral summer season.

In addition to the increase in supply to Melbourne as of December 1 of this year, LATAM also offers 4 weekly frequencies on the Santiago-Sidney route and 6 weekly frequencies on the Santiago-Auckland-Sidney route.

During the four months planned for operation of the Santiago-Melbourne route, LATAM expects to carry around 37,000 passengers on the route, with approximately 4,000 traveling to and from Brazil.

The flights will be operated on Boeing 787-9 aircraft with a capacity for 300 passengers: 30 Premium Business, 57 Economy and 213 Economy.

Direct flights between Santiago and Sydney

Starting October 27, LATAM Airlines Group will resume its longest non-stop route with direct flights between Santiago de Chile and Sydney, Australia. More than 11,300 kilometers separate the two cities. With the return of the operation, passengers will be able to make this journey in less than 15 hours. The direct flight reduces travel time by four hours compared to a flight with a stopover in Auckland, New Zealand.

Flights from the Chilean capital to Sydney will take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and from Sydney will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
