Iberia and SEPLA sealed this Monday an agreement which represents an important evolution in the current X Agreement and which implies extending its validity until December 31, 2027. As a result of the negotiation, a model is implemented that allows the company to better share its benefits with its employees.
Thanks to this agreement, pilots will receive additional income based not only on financial results, but also when objectives linked to operational excellence are achieved: punctuality, NPS (customer satisfaction level) and productivity.
Marco Sansavini, Chairman of Iberia, believes that “the agreement with SEPLA is a fundamental building block for the future of the company. Sharing financial and operational successes with people allows us to feed our virtuous circle, the basis of which is to achieve excellent results so that we can invest even more in retaining our talent, improving customer service and environmental sustainability.”
Key points of the agreement
- Extension of the term of the agreement, which provides stability for the coming years. The 10th Agreement will be in force until December 31, 2027, instead of ending in 2025. The improvements included in the agreement are added to the agreement without the need to modify any of its sections.
- Remuneration: A new salary table is added to the current salary table (which remains unchanged). This new additional table contemplates a consolidated increase linked to the airline’s profitability above 12% and a non-consolidated increase, linked not only to the airline’s profitability, but also to the objectives of excellence in punctuality, NPS and productivity.
- Veterans: Reserve options are improved through a new Special Termination model with greater guarantees.
- LEVEL: The number of LEVEL aircraft to be operated by Iberia pilots is increased from six to eight. The current economic conditions are maintained for those who will fly the aircraft of this IAG company.
- Reconciliation and productivity: Fourteen-day advance notice of schedules is guaranteed, allowing pilots to better organize their personal and family life without affecting their productivity.
- Fleet: The ambition was to agree on a framework for the growth of our short-haul fleet at Iberia and Iberia Express based on the business opportunities we see in each segment. For the time being, it has not been possible to reach an agreement with the Iberia Express pilots’ union representatives. This means that the growth of this airline will be frozen and that the next four aircraft assigned to the Iberia Group will be integrated into Iberia.
