Iberia, Mercado Pago partner to facilitate ticket purchase process in Argentina and Mexico

Iberia and Mercado Pago have reached an agreement to facilitate the purchase process for customers in Argentina and Mexico who want to connect to the rest of the world and travel through the airline’s network.

Thanks to this alliance, any user will be able to purchase their Iberia tickets through the Mercado Pago platform quickly and securely, using the different options available such as Dinero en Cuenta or credit card.

“We are very proud to have a strategic partner of Mercado Pago’s stature, as this alliance allows us to broaden the range of possibilities available to users in Argentina and Mexico to enjoy Iberia’s network of destinations. This new possibility will greatly enhance the customer journey,” said Marina Colunga, Iberia’s commercial director for Latin America.

Jonathan Stern, Senior Commercial Director of Mercado Pago, emphasizes that “we are very pleased to be able to bring our payment solutions to Iberia’s customers so that they can purchase their travel services in a practical and simple way. In addition to Argentina and Mexico, it will also be available in other Latin American markets in the coming months.

Iberia is making a major commitment during 2024 to Latin America, a region in which Argentina and Mexico are two of the main players. Specifically, the airline offers three daily flights connecting Argentina and Mexico with Europe, allowing it to transport more than 2,000 people daily between the two continents on each route.
