LATAM resumes nonstop flights between Santiago and Sydney
LATAM Airlines resumed non-stop flights between Santiago and Sydney, Australia, the longest route operated by the airline.
There are more than 11,300 kilometers separating the two cities and now LATAM passengers will be able to make this journey in less than 15 hours without stopovers. This represents a saving of 4 hours compared to a flight from Santiago to Sydney with a stopover in Auckland, New Zealand.
The flights will be made four times a week and will be operated in Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with capacity for 300 passengers.

“With this resumption, LATAM reinforces South America’s connectivity with Oceania, offering more alternatives to travelers from all over the region who are looking for new experiences in Australia. Sydney is one of the most cosmopolitan and multi-ethnic cities in Australia and receives almost 10 million tourists a year,” said María Paz Villasante, LATAM Airlines Group Commercial Strategy Manager.
The route, which has the capacity to carry up to 2,400 passengers per week, is in addition to the direct flights operated by LATAM from Chile to Melbourne in Australia and Auckland in New Zealand.
NEW CONNECTION FOR SOUTH AMERICA
Thanks to this resumption, passengers from Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Florianopolis, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Buenos Aires, Lima and Montevideo will be able to travel to Australia with a stopover in Santiago de Chile.
