A Boeing 737-400 cargo plane of the airline Swiftair, contracted by DHL, crashed Monday in a residential area near Vilnius Airport (Lithuania), a few kilometers from the runway. The plane had departed from the German city of Leipzig.
One pilot, a Spanish national, died in the accident, and another crew member who was injured and hospitalized, Lithuanian police communications chief Ramūnas Matonis told EFE.

Matonis said one German and one Lithuanian national were also injured and hospitalized.
The causes of the accident are under investigation, according to the police spokesman.
