Arajet closed 2024 with historic achievements that consolidated its position as the undisputed leader among Dominican airlines. According to the annual report by the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), the airline broke records by transporting more than one million passengers for the first time in the country’s history.
Dominance in the Local Market
Arajet captured an impressive 81% of passengers transported among local airlines in 2024. With a total of 934,293 passengers, a figure that rises to more than 1.2 million when including connecting passengers, Arajet far outperformed its competitors SkyHigh Dominicana and Air Century, which transported 158,986 and 52,286 passengers respectively. In terms of operations, Arajet led with 8,961 flights, also excelling on key routes such as Mexico City (Santa Lucía), which served 96,919 passengers on 773 flights.

Impact on Dominican Aviation
Arajet’s growth significantly contributed to making 2024 the best year in the history of Dominican aviation, with a 7% increase in the total number of passengers transported in the country. Additionally, Arajet secured its position as the sixth-largest airline by passenger volume in the Dominican Republic.
Projections for 2025
For 2025, the airline plans to expand operations to the United States in the second quarter and add three new aircraft to its fleet, and projects to transport nearly 1.7 million passengers.
This trend not only transforms Dominican aviation but also positions the country as a regional hub for air connections. This significant achievement promises long-term benefits for the tourism and economic sectors of the Dominican Republic.
