The Japan Airlines Group (JAL) has unveiled its flight schedule for the summer of 2025, highlighting significant expansions in its international and domestic networks. This plan aims to meet the growing demand for air travel, strengthen connections between Japan and the world.
Expansion in International Routes
- Tokyo Narita-Chicago: Starting May 31, this route will connect Japan with one of the major hubs for business and tourism in the United States. It will be operated in collaboration with American Airlines as a codeshare flight.
- Naha-Taipei (Taoyuan): Japan Transocean Air (JTA) will debut in international flights with this route, scheduled for launch within fiscal year 2025.

Frequency Increases:
- Tokyo Narita-San Diego and Tokyo Narita-Bengaluru: Both routes will increase to daily flights from March 30 to October 25.
- Kansai-Los Angeles, Kansai-Honolulu, and Chubu-Honolulu: Starting July 18, these routes will also operate daily flights during the summer.
- Tokyo Narita-Honolulu: From July 1 to 31, this route will feature two daily flights to meet high demand.
Introduction of Airbus A350-1000 Aircraft:
- Starting May 1, this advanced model will be deployed on the Haneda-Paris route, initially operating on alternate days.
- During the summer period, it will also be introduced on the Haneda-Los Angeles route, offering a more comfortable and sustainable flight experience.
Enhancements in Domestic Flights
To cater to the domestic market, JAL has announced several notable changes:
- Osaka (Itami)-Misawa: From March 30, the frequency of this route will double, increasing from one daily flight to two.
- Osaka (Itami)-Sapporo (New Chitose): From June 1, an additional daily flight will be introduced as a seasonal boost for the peak travel period.
- Tokyo (Haneda)-Miyako: In August, the Boeing 787-8 will be introduced on this route, significantly increasing capacity. Additionally, this route will be the first to feature JAL’s domestic first-class service.
