A recent weather event has caused chaos in the U.S. aviation sector. Over 1,300 flights were canceled on Monday due to a winter storm that brought snow, ice, and freezing temperatures across a vast region of the country. This massive disruption primarily affected Southwest Airlines and American Airlines, with 264 and 176 flights canceled, respectively. Other major airlines like United Airlines and Delta Air Lines also issued travel advisories.

The flight-tracking website FlightAware reported a total of 1,306 canceled flights and 414 delayed flights as of 5:13 a.m. ET. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had previously issued a warning about the potential effects of the storm, including strong winds, snowfall, and freezing conditions in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
