Avion Express Brasil has taken a crucial step in its expansion by obtaining the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC). This achievement marks the official start of operations for the first specialized ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) operator in the country, solidifying Avion Express as a global leader in air capacity solutions.
Operations takeoff in 2025
With the AOC approval, Avion Express Brasil will begin its commercial operations in the first quarter of 2025. The company will deploy up to 10 Airbus A320 family aircraft by the end of the year, with plans to expand its fleet to 25 units between 2027 and 2028. This strategy responds to the growing demand for air capacity solutions in Latin America.
Strategic Expansion in Latin America
Avion Express has identified Latin America as a key market for its growth. With a well-established presence in Mexico and a recent entry into Argentina, the company sees Brazil as a strategic opportunity for expansion.

According to Darius Kajokas, CEO of Avion Express, obtaining the AOC is a significant step for the ACMI industry in the region: “The AOC for Avion Express Brasil represents a key evolution for ACMI solutions. This expanding market needs innovative capacity management tools, and our expertise will allow Brazilian airlines to optimize their operations with flexibility and efficiency.”
Brazil, as one of the largest aviation markets in the region, is a natural addition to Avion Express’s network, which continues to solidify its position as a global leader in ACMI services.
Meeting the Challenges of Seasonal Demand
The ACMI business model allows airlines to efficiently manage seasonal fluctuations and operational challenges.
Esteban Jauregui Lorda, CEO of Avion Express Brasil, highlighted the importance of this approach: “ACMI solutions are designed to respond to demand peaks, enabling airlines to add or reduce aircraft in their fleets according to market needs. This flexibility is crucial to adapt to the seasonal variations in the sector.”
Looking ahead to 2025, tourism and aviation in Brazil continue to expand. With the financial backing of Avia Solutions Group, Avion Express Brasil is ready to offer reliable and cost-effective capacity solutions to local airlines.
