Iberia Express announced this Monday a significant reinforcement of its operations for Carnival, offering a total of 16 additional flights with 3,000 extra seats on its routes to the Canary Islands. This measure responds to the expected increase in demand during this period for flights to Gran Canaria, La Palma, and Tenerife.
Specifically, the reinforcement includes:
- Tenerife: 10 additional flights and nearly 2,000 extra seats.
- Gran Canaria: 2 additional flights.
- La Palma: 4 additional flights.
These increases are in addition to the more than 191,000 seats and 1,900 flights already scheduled between February 21 and March 16, ensuring stable and efficient connectivity with the archipelago during Carnival.

Commitment to the Canary Islands: Expansion and Sustained Growth
The Canary Islands continue to consolidate as a key market for Iberia Express, reflected in a 4% increase in winter frequencies, reaching nearly 350 weekly flights with the main islands of the archipelago.
Key data from the expansion include:
Tenerife: More than 65 weekly flights between Madrid and the island, totaling over 600,000 available seats from November through late March.
Gran Canaria: Up to 10 daily flights with Madrid, offering nearly 518,000 seats.
La Palma: Up to 2 daily flights with Madrid, with a total availability of more than 84,000 seats during the winter season.
Lanzarote: A 12% increase in frequencies, operating 3 daily flights and offering nearly 190,000 seats.
Fuerteventura: An 11% increase in operations, with 140,000 seats available across up to 3 daily flights in each direction.
Flexible Fares for Greater Passenger Comfort
As part of its strategy to improve the passenger experience, Iberia Express has extended the Canary Flex and Canary Plus fares to all airports in the archipelago. These fares allow travelers to move their flight forward on the same day, both from Madrid and from the Canary Islands, offering greater flexibility and comfort.
The reinforcement of Iberia Express on its routes to the Canary Islands demonstrates the airline’s firm commitment to the archipelago’s connectivity, especially during key periods such as Carnival.
