Poland’s flag carrier, LOT Polish Airlines, has signed an agreement to add two more Boeing 787-8 aircraft to its fleet. The announcement was made by Minister Dariusz Klimczak via the social media platform X, emphasizing that the acquisition will be carried out through a leasing agreement.
LOT’s CEO, Michał Fijoł, highlighted the significance of this addition in the current aviation industry landscape. “Amid global challenges related to the availability of wide-body aircraft, this achievement opens new opportunities for LOT Polish Airlines’ expansion, in line with its development strategy,” he stated.

Delivery Scheduled for 2026
According to Fijoł, the two Boeing 787-8 aircraft will be delivered in 2026. Currently, these planes are operating for another airline, though the name of the owner has not been disclosed. This acquisition is part of LOT’s growth strategy, which aims to strengthen its international market presence with state-of-the-art aircraft.
Upcoming Tender for 84 Aircraft
In addition to this acquisition, LOT Polish Airlines is in the selection process for the purchase of 84 aircraft intended for regional routes. As Fijoł told the state news agency PAP, the results of this tender will be announced in the coming weeks.
