Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport concluded February with an impressive record of 4,820,733 passengers, setting a new milestone for this month in the history of the Madrid airport. This 2.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024 reaffirms its role as one of Europe’s leading hubs.
Growth in Passenger Traffic
Of the total passengers, 4,813,969 traveled on commercial flights, with a notable difference between international and domestic travelers. While 3,562,212 were passengers on international flights, reflecting a 5.2% increase, domestic travelers decreased to 1,251,757, marking a 5.3% decline.
Increase in Air Operations
The airport also recorded a rise in the number of aircraft movements. In February, 31,493 flights were operated, representing a 1.8% growth compared to the same month in 2024. Regarding commercial flights, which totaled 31,431, international flights reached 21,589 operations, showing a 5.1% increase, while domestic flights decreased by 4.8%, with 9,842 flights.

Rising Air Cargo
Air freight transport also set a record in February, with 61,306 tons mobilized, representing a 7% growth compared to the same period in 2024. This figure accounts for 61.8% of the air cargo managed across all Aena network airports in Spain during this month.
Year-to-Date: More than 10 million passengers
Considering the first two months of 2025, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport has welcomed a total of 10,018,876 passengers, reflecting a 5.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Similarly, in terms of air operations, between January and February, 65,304 aircraft movements were recorded, a 4.4% increase compared to 2024. The cumulative air freight transport also continues to show an upward trend, with 120,157 tons mobilized, marking a 7% growth compared to the same period last year.
