Air Canada inaugurated its new direct route between Vancouver and Manila, Philippines, this Wednesday. This connection, which will operate four times a week year-round, strengthens the airline’s presence in Southeast Asia.
The launch of this new route was celebrated at Air Canada’s Pacific hub in Vancouver with a special event.
Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning and President of Cargo at Air Canada, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are proud to be the only Canadian airline flying to the Philippines, making travel easier for over one million Filipinos residing in Canada. This route not only strengthens ties between the two nations but also boosts tourism, trade, and connectivity.”

Expansion in the Transpacific Market
The Vancouver-Manila connection adds to Air Canada’s growing transpacific network, which already includes 12 routes to destinations such as Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. Thanks to its strategic geographic location, Vancouver serves as the ideal gateway for travel between North America and Asia.
By the summer of 2025, the airline will operate over 180 weekly flights between Canada and the Pacific region. This expansion responds to the rapid growth of Southeast Asia and follows the recent launches of routes to Singapore and Bangkok. Since 2022, the airline has doubled its seat capacity in the region during the summer season.
With this new route, Air Canada reinforces its commitment to global connectivity, offering passengers a fast and convenient way to travel between Canada and the Philippines.
