American Airlines has been named the Official Air Transport Provider in North America for the FIFA World Cup 2026, strengthening the tournament’s ties to the region and ensuring a top-tier travel experience for fans and teams in the United States. The 2026 edition will mark a milestone as it is hosted across three countries—Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.—featuring a record-breaking 48 teams and 16 host cities.
Partnership with Qatar Airways and Exclusive Fan Benefits
The U.S. carrier will collaborate with Qatar Airways—a FIFA Global Partner—to offer special promotions and unique opportunities around the championship. This alliance, combining American’s domestic network with Qatar Airways’ global connectivity, aims to deliver a seamless experience for millions of travelers during the tournament.
Both airlines, members of the oneworld alliance, will also integrate their loyalty programs. Members of American’s AAdvantage and Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club will soon be able to redeem Avios points for match tickets.
