Strengthening Scandinavian Connectivity

SAS has prioritized growth in domestic traffic within Sweden, increasing flight frequencies by 54%, which improves both domestic and international connectivity. In this context, the new routes to Halmstad and Kalmar reinforce the airline’s position as the leading carrier in the Swedish market.

Increased Frequencies on Popular Routes

As part of its strategy to enhance connections, SAS has boosted flight frequencies on high-demand routes:

  • Toronto, Berlin, Florence, and Prague will see a 70% increase in flights from Copenhagen.
  • The airline is reinforcing its 122 international connections operated from its Copenhagen hub.

Henrik Winell, Vice President of Network at SAS, emphasized the significance of this expansion: “This summer program marks a milestone for SAS, introducing 28 new routes and expanding our capacity to 23 million seats. With this, we strengthen Scandinavia’s connectivity with Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, solidifying Copenhagen as a world-class hub.”

SAS’s strategy not only responds to the growing demand for international travel but also reinforces its position in the competitive aviation market.
