This Monday, air connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela was restored, marking the end of a brief suspension. Avior Airlines took the first step by operating the flight from Caracas to Medellín. The aircraft departed from Maiquetía International Airport at 18:50.

Last week, the Venezuelan government unilaterally decided to cancel all flights to and from Colombia. The measure was justified by the alleged arrival of individuals identified as suspected mercenaries on Venezuelan soil. According to authorities, these individuals were linked to a plan to incite unrest and sabotage the regional and parliamentary elections held on Sunday.
The sudden suspension of flights highlighted the fragile bilateral relationship and the influence of political agendas on air transport operations.
