Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced an ambitious expansion of its flight program for the winter 2025/26 season, introducing six new direct routes from its operational hub in Copenhagen. This expansion, along with increased frequencies on existing routes, represents a 40% growth in total seat capacity.
Henrik Winell, Vice President of Network at SAS, emphasized: “We are thrilled to introduce these new destinations for the winter season, offering our customers more opportunities to explore and enjoy unique experiences. With a broader network and increased capacity, connectivity across Scandinavia will be significantly enhanced.”
New Destinations from Copenhagen
Vienna, Austria
The airline will operate daily flights, except on Saturdays, starting October 26, 2025, and year-round thereafter.
Tel Aviv, Israel
The Israeli city will have three weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays) year-round starting October 26.
Marrakech, Morocco
SAS will offer two weekly flights (Tuesdays and Saturdays) from October 26 to April 4.
Madeira, Portugal
The island will have one weekly flight on Saturdays, operating from October 11 to April 11.
Fuerteventura, Spain
This route will feature one weekly flight (Saturdays) from November 1 to April 4.
Kittilä, Finland
Flights will operate twice a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays) from January 10 to March 28.

Enhanced Connectivity Across Scandinavia
The new winter schedule also includes the continuation of 22 popular summer routes, with increased frequencies on key connections. This represents a 75% improvement in overall connectivity, reinforcing Copenhagen’s role as a leading hub in Northern Europe. Additionally, the routes are designed to integrate with other destinations in SAS’s network, such as Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, Billund, Aarhus, Aalborg, Bergen, Stavanger, Tallinn, and Gdansk.
Summer Routes Continuing into Winter
SAS will maintain operations to destinations like:
- Toronto: Four weekly flights, marking the only direct link between Scandinavia and Canada during winter.
- Seoul, South Korea: Direct service starting September 12, with three weekly flights during the winter season.
- European cities such as Budapest, Lyon, Madrid, Lisbon, Florence, Naples, Porto, Bucharest, Pristina, Sarajevo, Venice, Beirut, and Wroclaw, among others, will also remain active.
Winell added: “Whether traveling between Copenhagen and these European cities or connecting to Northern Europe and beyond, SAS offers convenient schedules and a wide range of options to make the journey more flexible and comfortable.”
