The European manufacturer Airbus confirmed on Thursday that it delivered 51 aircraft in May, marking a 4% decline compared to the same month last year.
This result reflects a downward trend in the first five months of 2025, with a total of 243 aircraft delivered—a 5% drop from the equivalent period in the previous year.
In May, Airbus recorded no new orders or cancellations.
For the first five months of 2025, the number of aircraft ordered from the European manufacturer stands at 291. After 76 cancellations, the net total is 215 orders.

Airline Pressure and Open Criticism
Airbus, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, is facing growing pressure from airlines due to delivery delays. The company aims to increase deliveries by 7% in 2025, reaching a total of 820 aircraft.
During the annual airline meeting held this week in New Delhi, several industry executives expressed frustration over supply chain issues, which have persisted since the pandemic. The CEO of Saudi low-cost airline flyadeal described the delays as “unacceptable,” emphasizing the operational and financial impact on carriers.
