The Brazilian airline Azul began its new route between Recife and Porto last Wednesday, with both outbound and return flights fully booked, highlighting the strong demand for this new air bridge connecting Brazil’s Northeast region to northern Portugal.
This route will operate twice a week—on Wednesdays and Fridays—using Boeing 767 aircraft. Each plane has a capacity of 259 passengers, with 14 seats in Executive Class and 245 in Economy Class.

Flights depart from Recife at 20:00 on Wednesdays and at 21:15 on Fridays, arriving in Porto at 08:00 and 09:15, respectively. The return flights leave Porto at 10:35 on Thursdays and at 07:25 on Sundays, landing in Recife at 14:40 and 11:30.
This new international connection strengthens Azul’s hub at Recife International Airport, which already serves 40 domestic and international routes.
“This is a milestone moment for Azul and also for the city of Recife. We are thrilled to launch another international route that showcases the Northeast’s growing role in aviation,” emphasized Daniel Bicudo, Azul’s Vice President of Commercial and Business.
