Tocumen Strengthens Its Role as the Gateway to the Americas

José Ruiz Blanco, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport, emphasized that these new operations reflect the confidence of international airlines in Panama as a key destination.

“The air connections starting this Thursday further strengthen the ties between Panama, Europe, and Mexico by promoting cultural, tourist, and commercial exchange. At the same time, they expand connectivity options for travelers, offering greater accessibility and comfort, and solidifying Tocumen’s position as the premier gateway to the Americas,” stated Ruiz Blanco.

Currently, the Panamanian airport connects to 87 destinations, establishing itself as a top-tier regional hub.

Aeroméxico’s Strategic Return

Alongside Condor, Aeroméxico has also reactivated its daily route between Mexico City and Panama City, previously suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The resumption of this key route adds value to the regional connectivity ecosystem, providing more options for business and leisure travelers.

The restart of these international routes reinforces Panama’s role as a vital node in the continent’s air network. Beyond boosting tourism, this new phase promotes trade and cultural exchange between Europe, Mexico, and Central America.
