EGYPTAIR announced a firm order for six additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft on Wednesday, as part of its expansion strategy to meet the growing demand for air travel. With this addition, the airline’s total orders for this model now stand at 16 units, solidifying the A350-900 as a cornerstone of its fleet renewal.
Fleet Modernization and Future Vision
Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR, emphasized that this acquisition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its fleet and enhancing the passenger experience.
“We are continuously working to modernize our fleet and provide a more comfortable and optimized travel experience. This collaboration with Airbus is built on a decades-long relationship, marked by multiple successful agreements and strategic partnerships in the aviation sector,” Adel stated.
The executive also highlighted that the new A350-900s will be essential for meeting the rising demand for long-haul flights and expanding the route network over the next five years, while simultaneously supporting Egypt’s efforts to promote more sustainable air transport.

MNG Airlines Orders A350F Aircraft
In parallel, Turkish cargo carrier MNG Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of two A350F units, the new cargo model based on the A350 platform.
Murathan Doruk Günal, Chairman of MNG Airlines and CEO of Mapa Group, explained that this investment positions the company to more robustly address current and future logistical challenges.
“This agreement for two A350Fs deepens our partnership with Airbus across its entire cargo program. It strengthens our presence on key routes such as Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. It also provides us with the flexibility to meet evolving demands, from e-commerce to high-value cargo and express logistics,” Günal noted.
The A350F is set to revolutionize the air cargo market with its next-generation efficiency, greater capacity, and unprecedented loading flexibility. Airbus expressed enthusiasm about welcoming MNG Airlines as a new customer for this model.
