Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bahamasair, the flag carrier of The Bahamas, to establish an interline partnership that will provide seamless access to this Caribbean destination for passengers from around the world.
Through this agreement, travelers arriving in Miami and Orlando on Emirates flights can effortlessly connect to Nassau, Freeport, or San Salvador via Bahamasair’s services, all under a single booking and with favorable baggage policies.
A Strategic Step Toward Caribbean Expansion
The partnership will allow Emirates to extend its presence in the Caribbean by leveraging Bahamasair’s regional network from Florida. This translates to more travel options for customers and greater convenience when planning their itineraries.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, remarked: “We are pleased to establish an interline partnership with Bahamasair to expand our reach into new and exciting destinations. This collaboration offers our passengers competitive fares, the convenience of booking their entire journey on a single ticket, and a generous baggage policy.”
The partnership also aligns with the agreement signed between Emirates and The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed at promoting tourism to the island nation through the Emirates’ vast global network.

Strategic Benefits for Both Airlines
For Bahamasair, this alliance represents an opportunity for international growth and knowledge transfer. Tracy Cooper, Bahamasair’s Managing Director, stated:
“This collaboration significantly elevates Bahamasair’s global profile and grants us access to valuable expertise and new markets. By partnering with one of the world’s most respected airlines, we strengthen our capabilities and lay the foundation for sustained international growth.”
Beyond Passengers: Cargo and Loyalty Program Cooperation
The MoU also includes exploring opportunities to expand interline cargo cooperation and assess potential partnerships in frequent flyer programs—a clear indication that both companies seek a long-term collaboration that goes beyond passenger travel.
Global Connectivity from Florida
Emirates operates daily flights to Miami using its Boeing 777 and five weekly flights to Orlando. These two cities are among the 12 U.S. destinations served by the airline and serve as key connection points for travelers heading to The Bahamas.
The agreement was signed during the Arabian Travel Market, where Emirates and The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs also inked an MoU to jointly promote tourism and trade to the Caribbean nation.
