Paris Air Show: STARLUX Expands Its Long-Haul Fleet with 10 Additional Airbus A350-1000
The Taiwanese airline STARLUX has signed a firm order for the acquisition of ten additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The agreement was finalized during the Paris Air Show, with the signing ceremony attended by STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for Airbus Commercial Aircraft.
Current Fleet and Expansion Commitment
STARLUX currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of 28 aircraft, including A350-900, A330neo, and A321neo models. In addition to this new order, the airline already had 30 more units on backlog, including A350F freighters and additional A350-1000s, further solidifying its commitment to next-generation aircraft.
“Expanding our international fleet with more A350-1000s is a key step in strengthening our global presence and enhancing connectivity in strategic markets,” stated Glenn Chai. He emphasized that this model offers operational efficiency, intercontinental range, and a superior passenger experience, making it essential for STARLUX’s long-haul operations.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry highlighted that STARLUX’s decision reaffirms the A350-1000 as a benchmark for long-haul flights. “With its advanced design and fuel-efficient performance, this aircraft enables airlines to optimize routes and minimize environmental impact,” he noted.
A350-1000: Technological Leadership and Sustainability
The Airbus A350 is regarded as the most modern and efficient wide-body aircraft in the world. Designed for non-stop flights of up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 kilometers), it features state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce engines. Its fuel consumption is 25% lower than previous-generation models, resulting in a similar reduction in carbon emissions.
With this addition, STARLUX enhances its operational capabilities and reinforces its commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and a premium flight experience for its passengers.
