American Airlines announced a significant expansion of its network in Latin America and the Caribbean for the winter season, directly targeting the demand for warm and culturally rich destinations during the holiday period. Starting late this year, the airline will introduce new routes and increase frequencies from three of its key hubs: Chicago, Philadelphia, and Miami.
Strengthening Operations from Chicago: More Sun for Winter
Beginning October 26, American will launch daily flights from O’Hare International Airport to Mexico City. This route connects travelers to a vibrant metropolis known for its cuisine, history, and urban parks.
Additionally, from December 18 to January 5, the airline will offer a daily service to Querétaro (QRO). This city, with its historic center and proximity to wine regions and San Miguel de Allende, provides a cultural and relaxed alternative for travelers seeking more than just sun and beach.
Currently, American already operates over 20 international destinations from Chicago, including five new routes added this year to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America.
Philadelphia Solidifies Its Role as a Gateway to the Caribbean
American is the leading airline in Philadelphia in terms of destinations served, and this winter season will be no exception. Between December 18 and January 5, flights will operate to 14 destinations in the region, with over 20 daily departures during peak days.
