Following the success of its debut collection in 2023, Emirates is introducing a second limited-edition line of recycled luggage, “Aircrafted by Emirates,” handcrafted from materials salvaged from its aircraft. Now available at the Emirates Official Store, this 2025 collection features 167 unique and exclusive pieces expected to sell out quickly, mirroring the first edition, which raised over $17,000 for the Emirates Airline Foundation to support vulnerable children.
New Designs: Bags with a Soul of an Aircraft
The new line includes three trolley bag models, the standout products from the original collection. It also introduces two modern backpacks and two handbags, one of which is crafted from the exclusive fabric of the captain’s seat. Each item is designed with an artisanal touch, with prices ranging from $80 to $350, depending on the model.
Premium Recycled Materials from A380 and B777
The materials are sourced from the cabin refurbishment of 63 Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, with over 30,000 kilograms of components recycled. Notable reused elements include aluminum headrests, genuine leather from First and Business Class seats, and upholstery from the iconic A380 onboard lounge.

Each textile undergoes a rigorous industrial cleaning process, followed by disinfection and manual treatment. The pieces feature new linings and functional zippers, with some models even incorporating Emirates seatbelts as straps.
Handcrafted by Emirates Experts
The collection is the work of Emirates’ team of 14 interior maintenance specialists, internally known as Engineering Maintenance Assistants. These experts operate from a workshop within the airline’s engineering center in Dubai. Originally tasked with repairing cabin wear and tear, they now focus exclusively on this sustainable, high-value project.
The initiative has also expanded with the Aircrafted KIDS line, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to creative recycling and social responsibility.
An Unprecedented Modernization Project
This collection is part of Emirates’ Retrofit Project, launched in August 2022, which represents the largest fleet modernization ever undertaken by an airline. With a multi-million-dollar investment, the goal is to upgrade the interiors of 219 aircraft (Airbus A380 and Boeing 777), installing nearly 4,000 Premium Economy seats, 728 refurbished First Class suites, and over 5,000 redesigned Business Class seats.
The entire process is managed internally by Emirates’ Engineering team, ensuring rigorous standards at every stage of the transformation.
