Severe Turbulence Forces Delta Flight to Make Emergency Landing in Minneapolis: 25 Hospitalized
A Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam was forced to divert and make an emergency landing in Minneapolis on Wednesday after encountering severe turbulence, leaving 25 people hospitalized.

Delta Flight DL56, operated using an Airbus A330-900, took off from Salt Lake City around 5:30 p.m. (Central Time) bound for Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. There were 275 passengers and 13 crew members on board.
Just over two hours into what was supposed to be a roughly nine-hour flight, the aircraft was struck by “significant turbulence,” as confirmed by Delta in a statement. This prompted the captain to divert the flight and perform an emergency landing at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, where the plane touched down at 7:45 p.m.

25 Hospitalized: Immediate Medical Attention on the Ground
Upon landing, the flight was met by emergency medical personnel, including airport firefighters and paramedics, who provided immediate care to those affected.
Delta reported that 25 individuals were transported to local hospitals, though the airline did not specify the nature of the injuries or the condition of the patients.
So far, the airline has not released further details about the incident.
