STARLUX Airlines announced a new partnership with American Airlines, strengthening its presence in the North American market. This agreement comes shortly after the Taiwanese carrier confirmed its new direct route between Taipei and Phoenix, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy.
Simplified Connections for Travelers Across Both Continents
The new interline partnership will allow passengers to book a single ticket and check their baggage through to their final destination, combining American Airlines’ extensive domestic network in North America with STARLUX’s transpacific and Asian routes.
Thanks to this agreement, travelers from cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Charlotte, Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, Mexico City, and others will enjoy smoother and more efficient connections to Taipei.

Phoenix: A Strategic Hub in the U.S. Southwest
The Taipei-Phoenix route enhances connectivity between the two airlines’ networks. Phoenix, one of American Airlines’ key hubs in the southwestern United States, offers a strategic location for distributing passengers to and from numerous destinations.
STARLUX has scheduled flight times to ensure seamless transfers:
- Taipei → Phoenix: Departure 20:45, Arrival 17:40 (local time)
- Phoenix → Taipei: Departure 22:45, Arrival 04:55 (local time)
Service Details
The new route will be operated with Airbus A350 aircraft configured for 306 passengers:
- 4 First Class seats
- 26 Business Class seats
- 36 Premium Economy seats
- 240 Economy seats
